Two Amazing Painters/visual makers.

Friday, June 11th, 2010

Here is a link to two of my friends that are great artists with two totally different strokes.

Brandon Bagby is from Louisiana and is an avid musician that really shows in his art. It takes cues from bourbon street, to street performers, to a whimsical interpolation of music.

Meghan Ellie Smith paints with an ocean of energy and eye for a mash of common elements in uncommon style. When I see her work i cant help but imagine that it must be visions of our inner earth (note the hollow earth theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow_Earth).

They are both talented and sell prints and original pieces. My advice is to go spend your next paycheck on their work and catch work from rising talent.

I surly and duly do not post often enough, for my audience has changed from friends and family to a more worldwide audience telling me about new medical websites, websites oriented towards adults, and phone directories, deleting crap emails, listening to old indie music, and knowing this will only be read by my international audience, so hello, maybe i will have to being gone to see you on a visit soon time, and should you found this information useful, i hope yours was written better than mine, on the first wencenight of the fortitude, Caspian was unaware of his benevolence, but had a keen mind, and a sharp tongue, you should reverse look up phone number.

but here is a video i made, neato.

Found

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

I heard about this magazine on NPR and what a genious business idea. This guy finds trash, and if it is interesting enough, he compiles it into a once a year magazine called found, but he also has a blog style thing with continuous finds,  Making a living of other peoples discarded lives.

So rare

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

its so rare when you find good documentary style photography that doesnt use old ruses like “wide angle flash fill” and “film like old camera grain and texture”.

When good gets better

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

The excitement, the waiting, */its only 9:55am, ups comes at 10:00/* Brown…its here, you wait patiently, and urgently, the door rings, and you without a chance for it to finish, your at the door, signing papers, grabbing the box, and shutting the door in a friendly face. Quickly you head to the flattest area and find your sharpest edge to hastily yet carefully open the box, there it is, your brand new apple magical electronic hardware, you are now a creative, you know think different, you can design websites, edit photos, make music, wear cool clothes, have a cool sticker on the back of your car, just to advertise that you are the one stop creative shop for anyone, my car sticker says so, and if i have to, ill show you my long list of creditials (garageband, iphoto, imovie…HD, iweb, idesign, iinternet, iopinion, iamedgy designer and can finally wear side scroll tapout tshirt tight jeans and multicolour shoes with a military hat and start to shoot film of underprivileged kids in foreign countries and scan it with no idea why, but its freaking cool! Maybe you can now even attend that cool church that has electric guitars, and screens larger than your local cinema that serve starbucks and actually fit in!) you dont need four years of training for a degree in art or design, all you need is the fruit of your labour, that fruit being apple, and then suddenly you realize, its not enough, you dont have it all, there is only one thing missing…

BLING BLING!!!!!

medical drawings

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

it aint eazy being a house hunter, especially when your on the constant move,

but medical drawings are fascinating! I mean, its a work of art, a work of science, a work of linguistics, and a work of history.  Its amazing that one document contains so much importance. if i could afford old things of importance, i believe i would have a few of these

and this is a great image i saw
